Right2Grow to Elevate Community Voices at Upcoming UN Food Systems Summit

As the world prepares for the UN Food Systems Summit +4 (UNFSS+4) in Addis Ababa this July, the Right2Grow alliance is gearing up to bring community-driven solutions and grassroots perspectives to the global stage. Representing six countries across Africa and Asia, Right2Grow works to ensure that every child has the right to grow up healthy and well-nourished by empowering communities to demand accountability and influence nutrition and food policies.

At the summit, Right2Grow will showcase powerful examples of how civil society can influence national decisions and drive real progress in food systems transformation. These include innovative approaches to budget monitoring, community-led nutrition programs, and citizen-driven advocacy that have led to measurable changes in national plans and local government policies.

Through the alliance’s work, communities have successfully pushed for increased funding for nutrition, influenced the inclusion of nutrition goals in national development strategies, and strengthened collaboration between civil society, government actors, and development partners. Youth and women have been especially central in these efforts, leading advocacy initiatives and promoting inclusive, equitable solutions for food and nutrition security.

UNFSS+4 will provide an opportunity for Right2Grow to connect with global decision-makers, development agencies, and fellow civil society actors. By sharing field-based experiences and practical lessons from the countries where it works, the alliance aims to influence discussions on sustainable and inclusive food systems, and to build partnerships that can scale effective, community-led models. We are proud to be joined by representatives from the Wilmat Foundation, Resonut and CSBAG

After the summit, Right2Grow is committed to ensuring that insights gained are translated into action. Participants will share key learnings through community workshops, local media, newsletters, and policy briefs—ensuring that knowledge flows back to the grassroots and contributes to ongoing national dialogue and implementation.

With a strong foundation of collaboration, evidence-based advocacy, and citizen engagement, Right2Grow looks forward to contributing meaningfully to the summit and reinforcing the message that real transformation begins with those most affected by food insecurity and malnutrition.
