Local voices need a seat at the table to tackle the food crisis in East & Southern Africa

Today Right2Grow Uganda's Gerald Kato participated in a pre World Food Day webinar on the food crisis in East & Southern Africa. Together with the Civil Society Alliance for Nutrition, Plan International, Action Against Hunger and East & Southern Africa Nutrition C S Networks, we discussed recommendations for governments, donors and nexus actors.

Our main takeaways: youth, communities and local voices need a seat at the table and actively contribute to policy and decision making processes. Community-led initiatives need to be prioritized as they have the power to create sustainable and long-lasting impact.
